It is expected that the introduction of advanced technology into governmental sectors will lead to a considerable increase in productivity, resilience and adaptability, benefiting not only the construction industry but also the community that serves its infrastructure. In the light of Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision, the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Energy aimed to implement advanced technological information systems into its sector; to empower the national development movement.

The Ministry of Energy is one of the Governmental Authorities of Saudi Arabia and part of the Cabinet. The Ministry has the responsibility of developing and enforcing policies on petroleum and related products. The ministry’s aims achieving the optimum utilization of hydrocarbon resources in a way that achieves sustainable development of the national economy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and does not negatively affect the global economy, especially the economies of developing countries. It also represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in relevant international organizations, defends the interests of the Petroleum Kingdom, and clarifies its petroleum policy in international forums, and in International bilateral meetings and relations.

It was a great honor for the Middle East Readers Information Center (MERIC) to implement the Canadian-based GEMZ Platform acting as a pillar in empowering information management and research in this sector. GEMZ Platform organized all the Ministry’s online information resources and made it easier to access, search and control all these resources from one place. It also acted as a source of information for updated global and local economic news and trends; which paves the way for the ministry’s personnel and cadres to conduct researches needed for achieving 2030 vision.

We are proud to be part of Ministry of Energy work in energy planning and development that promotes sustainable growth in the KSA economy and co-creates a consistent and overall national development agenda and empowers the implementation of the 2030 Vision.
